Abingdon Art Goodies has its roots deeply planted in the art community of the area. As far as my personal knowledge goes, this store was originally opened and operated as Woody's Goody's from 1981 to 2007 by Mr. Landon Woody, a well know and well loved artist in the community. Sadly he passed away in 2007, but his legacy lives on. Mr. Woody was not only the original owner of the local art supply store, but also a founding member of the Wednesday Morning Painters group that still continues strong. The group meets at the Arts Depot on wednesday mornings from 10am-2pm. For more information, follow the link to the Arts Depot website. Mr. Woody would keep the store closed on Wednesdays to be able to join the painting group, and this tradition is still part of the shop today.
